ROHS COMPLIANT

  • The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive, also known as RoHS, is a European Union directive that restricts the use of certain hazardous materials in electrical and electronic equipment. 
  • Malaysia is among the countries that have implemented the RoHS directive. All electrical and electronic equipment sold in Malaysia is required to comply with the directive which will ensure that exporters of electrical and electronic products do not trade in hazardous materials.
  • The RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive was adopted in February 2003 and took effect on July 1, 2006. It restricts the use of certain hazardous materials – such as mercury, lead, cadmium, and hexavalent chromium that may be found in electrical and electronic equipment. Malaysia has implemented the RoHS directive, which means that all electrical and electronic equipment sold in Malaysia must comply with it. This will ensure that exporters of electrical and electronic products do not trade in hazardous materials.
  • The exporters of electrical and electronic equipment ensure that they comply with applicable laws and regulations prior to exporting.
  • ROHS compliance means that a company is using fewer hazardous materials, and this can lead to less waste and reduced emissions.
